Job Summary
End-Item Flight Hardware Program Manager responsible for the overall financial performance, schedule, and technical compliance of large-scale aerospace/defense flight hardware programs. Lead cross-functional teams across estimating, engineering, operations, quality, and finance to ensure on-time delivery, contract milestones, and successful delivery against customer requirements. Develop program status and cost tracking, maintain backlog, coordinate with IPTs, drive continuous improvement, participate in root-cause corrective actions, and provide guidance on day-to-day program issues. Strong emphasis on reading complex flight hardware drawings, GD&T, and familiarity with CATIA/ENOVIA/Epicor; on-site 5-day workweek in Santa Fe Springs, CA. Potential for junior growth opportunities within the role.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on aerospace/defense manufacturing experience, with a strong preference for job shop environments focused on build-to-print, custom fabrications, and large components/structures
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex 2D and 3D engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T
- Experience with CATIA, Autovue, and Enovia
- Strong understanding of flight hardware processes
- Experience with various aerospace materials (aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, stainless steels, Inconel) and their machinability
- Ability to translate customer requirements into planning and manage corrections to successful conclusion
- Experience with creating program milestone schedules, contract reviews, first article inspections, and production delivery dates
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally (Estimates, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance)
- Proficiency with MS Office; ERP/MRP familiarity (Epicor a plus)
- Willingness to work on-site 5 days a week
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerancing, and inspection requirements
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (AS9100) is beneficial
- Ability to manage a cross-functional bid process and maintain backlog
- Strong leadership, ownership, and accountability for program performance
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, with ability to learn new technologies
