Enabling Works Project Manager:Rail projects

Job Summary
Conduct strategic planning and delivery of early-stage enabling works across major rail infrastructure programmes, managing site preparation, utility diversions, and demolition activities. Liaise with local authorities, heritage bodies, and utility providers to ensure compliance and coordinate stakeholders through design, procurement, and construction phases. Define scope, budget, and schedules while monitoring progress, risks, and expenditures to maintain delivery objectives. Oversee site inspections, enforce quality control, and administer contracts for individual projects within the wider programme. Proactively resolve issues to minimize disruption to subsequent construction phases and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects across the full lifecycle through to completion
- Proven background in enabling works and construction management
- Strong commercial and financial awareness within a package or project environment, including working with supply chain partners
- Experience leading elements of projects within large, multidisciplinary teams
- Track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage and drive project outcomes to achieve high-quality delivery
- Skilled in overseeing technical outputs to enhance efficiency and performance
- Working knowledge and experience of NEC contracts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
