Emulation & Digital Twin Engineer
RemoteUnited States
Job Summary
Emulation & Digital Twin Engineer to build high-fidelity virtual machine tools and real-time factory emulators. Responsible for creating exact digital twins of CNC machining centers, sheet metal fabricators, and automated material handlers, bridging deterministic machine logic (G-code, PLC signals) with NVIDIA’s physical AI ecosystem (Isaac Sim, Nemotron, GR00T). Enable complete simulation, optimization, and verification of toolpaths, cycle times, robotic tending, and cognitive anomaly detection in a virtual factory before executing code on physical shop floors. Key skills include CNC/machine emulation, NVIDIA Omniverse integration, OpenUSD, CUDA-based simulation, cognitive CNC operations, industrial telemetry, and core software engineering in Python/C++ within Linux environments.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with CNC machine emulation and software-in-the-loop (SIL) emulators for multi-axis CNC machines
- Strong understanding of G-code and M-code, NC kernels, and PLC logic
- Experience integrating CAD data into simulation environments and converting to OpenUSD format
- Proficiency with NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, and PhysX for high-fidelity virtual environments
- Experience applying NVIDIA Nemotron and GR00T for physical AI and agentic tool use in CNC contexts
- Ability to build and validate virtual twins for toolpaths, cycle times, robotic tending, and cognitive anomaly detection
- Proficiency in Python and modern C++, with Linux environment experience
- Experience with industrial telemetry and data streaming (OPC UA, MTConnect)
- Familiarity with ROS2, Docker, Kubernetes, and edge deployment practices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional engineering teams
