Job Summary
Conduct physical examinations, establish medical histories, and evaluate donor suitability to determine eligibility for plasma donation. Build rapport with donors, provide health education, and counsel regarding test results while ensuring donor and staff confidentiality. Manage donor injuries and adverse events, administer the Hepatitis Vaccine program, and assist in employee training. Perform evaluations of illness history and medications to ensure continued donor suitability. Work involves standing and sitting for up to four hours daily, with potential exposure to biological fluids, electrical equipment, and extreme cold in freezers. Requires current CPR certification, state licensure as a nurse or EMT, and bilingual Spanish skills. Located in Glendale, AZ.
Required Qualifications
- Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocation Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Light lifting of 15lbs. with a maximum lift of 50lbs.
- Hearing acuity essential.
- Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye.
- Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Works independently and within guidance of oral or written instructions.
- Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects.
- Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch or sit on one's heels on rare occasion.
