Job Summary
Respond to safety and security needs for guests, visitors, and employees by performing designated patrols, enforcing traffic rules, and administering first aid for medical emergencies. Report hazards, investigate incidents, and maintain detailed records per Standard Operating Procedures while wearing proper uniform and PPE. Provide traffic control, enforce alcohol service guidelines, and troubleshoot electronic locks and safes. Operate a motor vehicle, manage heavy loads up to 300 pounds, and work independently or as part of a team under pressure. Maintain a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Obtain New York State Security Guard certification within one year of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- At least 21 years of age, or 20 years of age with at least two years of licensed driving experience
- New York State Security Guard certification (to be obtained within 1 year of hire)
- NYS Emergency Medical Technician certification
- CPR certification
- High School Graduate
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English language
- Ability to hear verbal instructions, directions, and warnings
- Ability to read and write in a legible and orderly manner
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to safely bend over, lift and carry heavy loads of at least 75 pounds
- Ability to walk up to 7 miles per day
- Ability to maneuver carts or dollies safely with loads up to 300 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle with either a standard or automatic transmission
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for long periods of time
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, stoop, twist and flex arms, walk up and down stairs/inclines, sit, climb up/down ladders or stand for up to 5 hours at a time
- Ability to physically traverse the property, both inside the Mountain House and outside grounds
- Ability to work in stressful situations and under pressure
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to act calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to analyze problems and develop and implement action plans
- Ability to present a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- Ability to wear proper uniform at all times
- Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment appropriate to the task being performed
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including days/nights, weekdays/weekends, holidays, and during peak periods of business
- Ability to obtain New York State Security Guard certification within 1 year of hire
