Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current, valid Arkansas driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Minimum age 19 at start of class
- Be physically fit and able to pass a physical examination
- Attained acceptable scores on a recent college placement exam (e.g., Accuplacer) provided onsite at MEMS
- Pass pre-employment drug screening
- Pass criminal background check
- Selected candidates will be hired as full-time employees and paid hourly ($12.50 during rookie school; $17.25 after license)
- Full-time employment and benefits begin October 1st after program completion
- Aspiring EMTs obtain Arkansas state EMT license and National Registry certification
