Job Summary
Administer basic life support treatments during ambulance transports while safely operating and maintaining emergency vehicles in compliance with laws. Deliver competent patient care across various settings, applying EMS procedures and maintaining clear, consistent communications with the Dispatch Center. Document information accurately in the charting system, assist fellow providers with reports, and handle station upkeep, equipment checks, and restocking supplies. Adhere to company and local agency policies, protocols, and professional ethical standards. Maintain a clean appearance and may administer first aid to injured coworkers when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Current EMT certification
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Current CPR
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to safely operate EMS vehicles and essential equipment
- Bend, sit, kneel, and lift up to 125 lbs
- Push/pull objects over 50 lbs
- Maintain physical agility for safe patient handling in demanding environments
- Tolerate extended periods of driving or riding in an ambulance
- Perform effectively in physically strenuous and emotionally challenging situations
- Demonstrate a clean appearance and professional, ethical behavior
- Maintain clear and consistent communications with the Dispatch Center
- May be required to administer first aid to injured coworkers when necessary
