Job Summary
Provide prehospital care and transport to individuals with sudden illness or injury across designated service areas and hospitals. Conduct inter-facility transport, mutual aid assistance, and field triage assuming incident command in mass casualty situations. Perform trauma assessments, airway management, ventilations, defibrillation, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation following N.J.A.C. Chapter 40 and American Heart Association guidelines. Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and neurological exams while documenting dispatches, refusals of care, and billing forms. Carry out shift duties, vehicle checks, and physician certification statements as assigned by DEMS management. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and recognize pain through hemodynamic signs during chart review. Report suspected abuse and neglect to appropriate authorities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Emergency Medical Technician as recognized by the New Jersey State Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services, as defined by N.J.A.C. Chapter 40
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
- Valid driver's license in NJ in accordance with Inspira Health's Fleet Safety ADM.291*IHN*
- Prior work experience
