EMT-Paramedic

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services reports to the Center Manager and supports plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory results including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE), and notify donors of unsuitable results. You’ll work under the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the Center Physician for medical issues, with familiarity in regulatory aspects of plasma collection and EHS guidance. Responsibilities include obtaining informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, evaluation of donor reactions, adherence to SOPs for medical emergencies, development of standing orders with the Center Physician, donor transport when needed, and supporting vaccination programs for employees. You may also manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER, and assist as a Pandemic Coordinator as authorized by EHS or Medical Affairs. Qualifications emphasize a nursing-level educational background, EMT-Paramedic certification, CPR/AED, IV therapy requirements, and two years of clinical/hospital experience. The role is housed at a Kyle, TX plasma center with compensation disclosed as an hourly wage range and comprehensive benefits.
