Job Summary
EMT/Paramedic position at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital (part-time, 7a-3p, Wed-Fri) accountable for assisting in patient care, performing EKGs and lab specimen collection under supervision, executing hourly rounds, and maintaining documentation per policy. Requires EMT-A/Paramedic license or current EMT-Paramedic program participation, six months pre-hospital or hospital EMT/Paramedic experience, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NVCRISIS within specified timeframes. Strong communication, teamwork, time management, and basic computer/EHR skills (Epic) are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED, homeschool equivalency)
- Completion of EMT-A, EMT- Paramedic program or licensed Paramedic, and/or currently participating in an EMT to Paramedic program with classification of an EMT-Advanced
- Six months pre-hospital experience or six months hospital experience as an EMT or Paramedic
- LP - Licensed Paramedic - State Licensure
- EMT-A - Emergency Medical Technician-Advanced - State Certification
- EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic - State Certification
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
- NVCRISIS - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Instructor (CPI)
