Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services/Takeda, reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports plasma center operations. Responsible for determining donor eligibility to donate plasma, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. Works under the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and the Center Physician for medical issues; familiar with plasma collection regulations and EHS guidance. Duties include conducting informed consent and AIDS education, medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, and reviewing SPE; evaluating donor reactions; following SOPs for medical emergencies and donor safety; coordinating with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues; and supporting immunization programs for staff (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu) and occupational health investigations. The role may involve Pandemic Coordinator duties as authorized by EHS. Qualifications include EMT-Paramedic licensure/certification, CPR/AED, IV therapy requirements, FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist, and at least two years of clinical/hospital experience.
