Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) determines donor eligibility, manages donor adverse events, reviews laboratory test results (SPE) and donor notification of unsuitable results. Works under the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the Center Physician for medical issues; familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment; supports EHS programs; role includes evaluating donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies, and coordinating donor safety with the Center Physician/Medical Affairs. Emphasis on patient-centered donor care and adherence to FDA-approved training and licensing requirements. Location: Fort Wayne, IN; full-time.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program
- Current EMT-Paramedic license
- CPR and AED certification
- Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
