Job Summary
Provide basic life support (BLS) care and ensure safe, efficient patient transport while operating and maintaining emergency vehicles per state and local regulations. Deliver competent, compassionate patient care across various settings, apply EMS protocols, and communicate professionally with patients, families, and healthcare personnel. Document care accurately in the electronic charting system, assist fellow providers, and provide thorough handoff reports. Maintain equipment, ensure vehicle cleanliness, and restock supplies. Requires current EMT certification, valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 125 lbs. Works an 8-hour night shift for MedTrust, an MMT Ambulance Company leader in interfacility transportation.
Required Qualifications
- Current EMT certification (state-specific requirements apply)
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to bend, sit, kneel and lift up to 125 lbs; push/pull over 50 lbs
- Maintain physical agility for safe patient handling in demanding environments
- Tolerate extended periods of driving or riding in an ambulance
- Perform effectively in physically strenuous and emotionally challenging situations
