Job Summary
As Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife/Takeda, determine donor eligibility and manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results (SPE) and notify donors of unsuitable results. Work under the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the Center Physician for medical issues. Ensure compliance with plasma collection regulations, provide center-level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS), support vaccination programs for employees, evaluate donor reactions, and assist with emergency transport per SOPs. Also participate in incident management, occupational health guidance, and may serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS or Medical Affairs. This role requires high school graduation plus a state nursing program credential, EMT-Paramedic licensure/certification, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical/hospital setting. The position is based in Mount Pleasant, WI, with an hourly wage range of $24.00-$33.00 depending on qualifications and location.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
- Regulatory compliance with plasma collection industry standards
- Knowledge of donor eligibility determination and adverse event management
