Job Summary
Conduct patient assessments and provide Basic Life Support interventions including CPR, oxygen delivery, bleeding control, and vital signs monitoring. Assist Paramedics by preparing equipment and performing delegated tasks during ALS calls while monitoring patient conditions during transport. Complete accurate electronic documentation of care and operate the ambulance safely following driving standards. Maintain equipment readiness through inspections, cleaning, and restocking while performing stretcher operations and patient lifting. Participate in required training and quality improvement activities to maintain EMT proficiency. Shifts include 0800-2000, 1000-2200, or 1800-0600 with 12-hour rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Previous EMT work experience
- Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and/or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) training
- Technology proficiency
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification
- Current State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification / licensure in good standing
- Current National Registry NREMT certification (if required by state)
- Current CPR: BLS certification
- Valid State driver's license
- FEMA IS Certifications (IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800)
- Strong people skills and proven ability to collaborate in a team
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and execute instructions in English
- Must be available for 0800-2000 Cali 12, 1000-2200 Cali 12, 1800-0600 Cali 12 shifts
