EMT / Firefighter

Perform all aspects of BLS pre-hospital patient care during emergency medical service incidents, determining the nature and extent of medical problems while following established treatment protocols and transporting patients to appropriate facilities. Provide support for fire and hazardous material activities as required by the Incident Commander, including fire suppression, EMS standby, and safety officer responsibilities. Inspect and maintain ambulances, vehicles, and medical equipment, ensuring supplies and medications are at desired levels while completing accurate documentation for transport and incidents. Complete station chores such as cleaning, laundry, and trash removal, and participate in public relations, educational, and recruitment programs. Maintain current Virginia EMT-Basic certification and Firefighter 1 certification, with a valid driver's license and successful completion of pre-employment physicals and background checks.
