Job Summary
The Emergency Medicine Technician serves as a crew member on the EMS unit responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Responsibilities include instructing first responders in CPR, evaluating scenes, operating response vehicles, providing patient care, and maintaining EMS equipment. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, possess required certifications, and demonstrate effective communication skills. Physical capabilities required include the capacity to lift, carry, and operate in various environmental conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Texas EMT-B or AEMT certification in good standing with Texas Department of Safety Health Systems
- BLS: Basic Life Skills certification by The American Heart Association
- Class C driver license with no DWI convictions in the prior 10 years
- EMT-P required within 24 months of being in the role
