Job Summary
EMT Behavioral Health in Aurora, CO provides on-scene response as a co-responder with a Licensed Behavioral Professional, delivering basic and advanced life support and transporting clients to appropriate facilities. Works with the Aurora Police Department and University of Colorado, performing EMS duties, mental health first aid, professional documentation, patient care, and safe vehicle operation while ensuring safety and confidentiality. Requires strong communication, teamwork with medical agencies, ability to handle high-stress situations, and adherence to EMS protocols and policy. Requires current state EMT certification and paramedic-related credentials with ongoing CME requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (Education Requirements)
- Colorado State Paramedic certification
- American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Provider
- American Heart Association ACLS
- American Heart Association PALS
- Current EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course) or Falck Rocky Mountain equivalent
- CJIS Level I training
- CIT certification preferred
- PHTLS card preferred
- Experience: 6 months as an EMT with 911/IFT experience preferred
- Satisfactory driving record per company policy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents and write reports
- Ability to perform Basic and Advanced Life Support care and transport as part of an emergency EMS team
- Ability to work with diverse individuals and agencies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Colorado state licensure requirements and ongoing CME/compliance requirements
