Job Summary
The EMT Basic is responsible for recognizing and responding to medical emergencies, performing physical examinations, and providing emergency treatment necessary for preserving life. The role includes transporting ill and injured individuals, maintaining effective communication with hospital staff, and completing necessary documentation regarding patient care. This position requires EMT and CPR certification, along with a thorough understanding of rescue and medical equipment. Key responsibilities include ensuring quality patient care, maintaining equipment, and adhering to established protocols.
Required Qualifications
- EMT / EMT-B
- CPR for the Health Care Provider
- Good knowledge of street systems, addresses, and physical layout of the area
- Ability to perform technical medical skills with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to understand and effectively deal with emotional and medical needs of victims
- Ability to maintain a professional and objective approach to care
- Ability to learn new concepts in rescue and medical skills
- Ability to drive and operate emergency ambulance units
