Job Summary
Perform essential emergency medical duties including recognizing medical emergencies, performing physical examinations, instituting emergency therapy, and ensuring patient care quality. Responsible for patient transportation and communication with hospital staff, maintaining medical records, and equipment management. This position requires EMT / EMT-B and CPR certifications, knowledge of emergency medical protocols, and the ability to lift heavy objects, operate emergency vehicles, and maintain effective working relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess and maintain EMT / EMT-B and CPR certifications
- Ability to perform technical medical skills with high accuracy
- Ability to understand and effectively deal with emotional and medical needs of victims
- Ability to maintain a professional and objective approach
- Ability to learn new concepts in rescue and medical skills
- Ability to direct the work of and teach other personnel
- Ability to operate emergency ambulance units
Desired Qualifications
- EMT / EMT-B certification
- CPR for the Health Care Provider certification
- Good knowledge of street systems and addresses
