Job Summary
The Arrow EMT responds to emergency and non-emergency ambulance requests and performs assigned duties such as cleaning ambulances and equipment. Works under the direction of a paramedic in patient care, ensures ambulance readiness, communicates crew and vehicle position, cleans ambulances and crew quarters, directs EMTs on calls, and transports patients in a wheelchair van when needed. Requires an EMT license (Illinois) and a driver’s license at hire, with NIMS 200/700/800, Hazardous Materials Awareness, and Emergency Response to Terrorism certifications to be completed within defined timeframes. The organization emphasizes a strong emergency response function within Carle Health and the Carle Regional EMS System, including a potential written exam and skills assessment for those new to EMS, and a letter of good standing from the most recent EMS system. - Emergency Medical Tech (EMT) License Illinois Upon Hire

- National Incident Management System (NIMS) 200 within 6 Months
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) 700 within 6 Months
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) 800 within 6 Months
- Hazardous Materials Awareness Certification within 6 Months
- Emergency Response to Terrorism (ERT) Certification within 6 Months
