Job Summary
Part-time per-diem Attending Physician(s) for the FDNY Office of Medical Affairs. Responsibilities include providing On-Line Medical Control coverage, instructing resident physicians, paramedics and EMTs, participating in quality assurance/improvement initiatives, training and education for FDNY personnel, providing on-scene field response, and contributing to EMS systems planning and analysis. May serve as a representative to regional EMS councils and subcommittees; may conduct research projects and assist in policy/procedure development. Requires medical degree, New York State license, and Emergency Medicine board eligibility/certification, with potential involvement in various EMS governance bodies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved school of medicine
- possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of New York
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine as issued by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or current approved application on file for admission to the certifying examination within one month of start of the Fellowship
- Completion of an ACGME-approved residency in Emergency Medicine and an official letter from the program indicating satisfactory completion, allowing eligibility for admission to the certifying examination
- Eligibility for board certification or current certification in an appropriate American Specialty Board in Emergency Medicine (for specialty track)
