Job Summary

Coordinate EMS course offerings within the Northwestern Medicine system including classroom and lab instruction, scheduling and supervision of instructors, and evaluation of learners. Act as liaison between EMS Providers and the EMS Office, manage educational materials and equipment procurement, monitor student and EMS Provider evaluations, update preceptors with curriculum and policy changes, and participate in performance-improvement activities and disaster drills. Requires BLS, an Illinois RN license or EMT-P license, three years EMS/ECRN experience, one year teaching experience, and EMS course coordination experience; preferred include advanced instructor certifications and related national credentials.

Required Qualifications

  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association
  • Registered Nursing license issued by the State of Illinois OR Current EMT P license without restrictions (National Registry Preferred)
  • Three years EMS or ECRN experience
  • One year teaching experience
  • EMS course coordination experience (e.g., EMT, Paramedic, TNS)
  • Familiarity with NEMSIS data requirements and EMS electronic patient care reporting
