EMS: Cross Country Helper (6-8) Coach, 2026/27 season

Job Summary
Season-long paid helper coach for cross country (grades 6-8) at East Middle School. Assists the coaching staff with each participating student to develop skills, discipline, sportsmanship, and self-esteem. Reports to the Head Coach and works with the Varsity Head Coach and on-site Athletic Director/LEAP Liaison. Commitment of 2-3 days per week (more days welcomed); stipend of $500 for the season. Responsibilities include adhering to the TCAPS Code of Conduct, supporting Playing Fair: A Guide to Title IX, helping participants develop sport skills, maintaining rules knowledge and meet procedures, assisting with fundraising and paperwork, maintaining equipment inventories, and contributing to positive communication with parents and the broader school community. Knowledge/abilities include effective communication, coaching experience, and an understanding of safety and conditioning as part of the athletic program.
Required Qualifications
- Valid teaching certificate
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- First aid training preferred
- CPR training preferred
- Experience in teaching, coaching, and sports medicine preferred
- Effective oral and written communication skills
