Job Summary
EMS Training Academy in Augusta, GA offers a classroom-style program (combining live instructor-led classes, labs, and webcast courses) to become a certified EMT-B. The program runs 10 weeks (plus orientation) with a total 11 weeks, including 48 clinical hours on Central EMS ambulances, and classes scheduled Monday–Friday from 0900–1700. Participants will gain hands-on training and licensure support, with tuition coverage and licensing/National Registry exam fees included. After successful completion and licensure, graduates are offered a full-time EMT-B position with Central EMS, backed by a minimum 24-month full-time employment commitment. The program includes a $13/hour student wage, full-time employee benefits, and ongoing support to advance in emergency medicine. Requirements include being 18+, having a high school diploma or GED, holding a valid Class C license with at least one year of driving experience, passing a pre-employment interview and testing (FISDAP), background check (including MVR), and drug screening.
