Job Summary
Screen and assess vocational and training needs for participants; assist with GED and vocational training; develop lesson plans and administer testing/assessments; instruct adults in vocational skills (interviewing, resume writing, work behaviors, work skills); evaluate client skill performance; support employment placement and online job searches; coordinate with outside agencies and employers to develop suitable positions; provide one-on-one computer support; document services; collaborate with WestCare staff to uphold professional image; participate in ongoing training and adapt to changing requirements; may involve vaccination/testing requirements and standard pre-employment checks.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent plus experience in vocational counseling or related field
- Bachelor’s Degree in vocational counseling or related field preferred
- One or more years of experience in a similar capacity (adult services, substance abuse or mental health settings preferred)
- Strong computer skills and intermediate proficiency in Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and respond to crisis situations
- Ability to complete documentation in a timely manner
- Regular attendance and ability to work overtime as needed
