Job Summary
The Employment Specialist will screen and assess referrals, provide education and job coaching supports in work environments, and develop partnerships with local businesses to create employment opportunities. Responsibilities include conducting intakes, vocational goal planning, offering skill training, job placement services, and ensuring long-term job retention. The role requires excellent communication skills and collaboration with treatment teams. An Associate’s Degree and two years of experience in employment or customer service are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree required
- At least two (2) years’ experience in employment and/or sales or customer service
- Must complete and be current in Office of Mental Health (OMH) required trainings to provide onsite services
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Rehab Counseling or other related field preferred
- Innovations and SETI certification
- Intermediate computer skills
Additional Requirements
- Valid NYS Driver’s License is required
