Job Summary
Employment Specialist/Job Coach to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to obtain community-based employment. Responsibilities include developing job opportunities with community employers, preparing resumes, accompanying individuals to interviews, assisting with applications, documenting weekly communications, conducting primary job development activities, maintaining records per licensing standards, coordinating with parents/case managers/agencies, and providing on-the-job training and task analysis. Travel required within Jacksonville, NC area; evenings and weekends may be needed. Role involves community-based service delivery rather than office work; on-the-job support and collaboration with VR counselors, employers, and service staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Valid unrestricted North Carolina driver’s license with good driving record and current vehicle insurance
- Willing to travel within the assigned territory to support community-based program
- Reliable transportation enabling movement throughout the program delivery area
- Basic computer skills for documentation
