Job Summary
Conduct job development and facilitate placement for refugees, asylees, SIV holders, and Afghan Humanitarian Parolees by cultivating relationships with employers, private agencies, and the Department of Labor. Interview clients to assess skills and barriers, orient them to the U.S. workplace, and assist with job searches and applications. Provide pre- and post-placement services, including transportation, interpretation, and enrollment in extended employment or Matching Grant programs. Document all activities in databases, write case notes, and conduct follow-up to ensure job retention. Coordinate with Refugee Services programs, update training materials, and develop outreach resources while maintaining professional boundaries. Full-time role in Clarkston, GA, with up to 50% local travel; annual compensation $40,000–$45,000. Requires Associate's or Bachelor's degree in social service or business, two years of direct employment or human services experience, and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in a social service or business field
- Minimum of two years of previous direct work experience in employment or human services
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Experience working in a culturally diverse environment
- Ability to balance the needs of the client and the employer
- Conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change
- Ability to set limits and maintain the helping role of the practitioner
- Excellent computer skills, accurate typing, and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must own a personal multi-passenger vehicle
- Valid state Driver's license
- Good driving record
- Appropriate personal auto insurance
- Must have the ability to communicate with all persons in a culturally competent manner
- Must be sensitive to the service populations' cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
- Must be available for frequent local travel to employer sites, job fairs, and worksites (up to 50%)
