Job Summary
Employment Specialist responsible for client-driven case management to identify and eliminate barriers to employment for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses. Conduct assessments and interviews to determine eligibility for employment services, discover and maintain clients’ employment goals and suitable employer matches, document progress, and support clients in achieving and retaining independent employment. Build and maintain community partnerships, represent Compass in meetings and events, and provide transportation to clients as needed. Requires in-person attendance, strong communication skills, and ability to collaborate with internal and external team members; travel within the area and use of assigned technology (laptop, mobile device, software).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- One year related experience and/or training in working with people in crisis or employment services
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Good communication skills (reading, writing)
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
