Job Summary
The Employment Specialist is responsible for training individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in essential skills for gaining and maintaining successful employment. This role includes supporting individuals with resume development, job applications, and interviews, teaching independent job skills through task analysis, and assisting at job sites to break down tasks. The specialist must build a support network, communicate progress with stakeholders, and ensure accurate program documentation. A valid driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, and two years of relevant experience are required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Minimum two years of relevant experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
