Job Summary
Employment Specialist provides employment preparation and job coaching to adults with serious mental illness in a team setting. Responsibilities include designing and coordinating employment positions in competitive settings, conducting at least six employer contacts per week to learn business needs and communicate program supports, serving as liaison between the program and employers, providing rapid job search and retention support for job placements (including off-site settings with disclosed participants), supervising and training clients in off-site contexts, conducting group job readiness classes, and maintaining adherence to legal/ethical standards of the profession with emphasis on safety and confidentiality. The role also involves developing visible industry presence, assisting with clothing/equipment to aid employability, facilitating transportation when needed, and working under a flexible, hybrid schedule in a Catholic Charities non-profit environment.
Required Qualifications
- Criminal background check via livescan fingerprint
- TB test performed and submit results
- Automobile, valid driver’s license and auto insurance per agency policy; or have access to reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Desire to work in a non-profit, trauma-informed care setting
