Job Summary
Teach clients to manage independent job skills using job task analysis and assistive technology while building support networks that integrate clients, co-workers, and supervisors. Advocate for clients with community employers by educating them on the financial and ethical benefits of hiring workers with disabilities, and assist in arranging daily transportation to and from job sites. Orient clients to company procedures, communicate progress to employers and family, and mediate differences between co-workers or employers as needed. Maintain knowledge of job openings across sectors, demonstrate the effectiveness of employing individuals with disabilities, and determine job duties into formats clients best understand. Provide comprehensive in-person follow-along services per funder guidelines while working a flexible schedule of 20 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services
- 1 year of experience in a vocational setting
- Associates degree
- 5 years' experience in a vocational setting
- Valid NY State Driver License
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to sit
- Ability to talk
- Ability to hear
- Ability to stand
- Ability to walk
- Ability to use hands to type
- Ability to perform light lifting
- Close vision

- Ability to adjust focus
