Job Summary
Provide customer service to visitors, employers, and job seekers via telephone and in person. Assist job seekers and employers with the Pure Michigan Talent Connect website, including troubleshooting, problem solving, and computer issues, while helping them with resumes, cover letters, and job search strategies. Register job seekers for unemployment and operate the re-employment program for Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties. Navigate federal and state databases, create the monthly workshops calendar for the Ingham American Job Center, keep events on camw.org up to date, and schedule and reserve rooms for Service Center users. Maintain resource information and support diverse populations with excellent communication skills. Full-time on-site position with periodic flexibility to work from home.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience in business, human resources, case management, career/workforce development, or other area of social science
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and/or Google applications, databases, and websites
- Must hear, write, and speak English well enough to effectively conduct business over the telephone, computer or face-to-face
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs
- Must be able to travel by car, train and/or air
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, climb, kneel and/or twist
- Must have close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus
- Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment
- Must be able to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods
- Must be able to move through the resource room to assist job seekers
