Job Summary
Provide resume, cover letter, and application feedback to clients while conducting mock interviews and checking on their progress. Assist the Job Developer by updating the online database, contacting local employers for openings, and applying for unemployment and IRS stimulus benefits. Deliver financial literacy sessions, refer clients to legal and tax resources, and summarize client accomplishments for the Case Specialist. Follow up regularly to assess retention and alert staff when further services are needed. This hybrid role in Manchester, NH, requires 16 hours per week and supports refugees navigating their first US jobs.
Required Qualifications
- Interest in international, refugee, asylee, and/or immigrant issues
- Patience speaking with non-native English speakers / non-English speakers
- Professionalism, discretion, and maturity in dealing with confidential information
- Experience with US job application process
- Experience editing and formatting, especially resumes and cover letters
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- First consideration is given to applicants who can commit at least 16 hours per week over the course of the semester outlined above
Desired Qualifications
- Language skills in Kinyarwanda, Swahili, Arabic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Somali preferred
