Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one sessions with clients to assess employment needs and develop personalized action plans including job search strategies. Assist clients with resume writing, cover letter development, and interview preparation while facilitating workshops and presentations. Maintain accurate client records, research local labor market trends, and connect seekers with community resources and employment programs. Monitor client progress and provide ongoing support throughout their job search journey. Collaborate with team members to ensure comprehensive service delivery and maintain updated knowledge of employment resources.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in career counseling, employment services, or related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a supportive and professional approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple client cases effectively
- Ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural sensitivity
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in resume writing and interview coaching (preferred)
- Knowledge of local labor market trends and employment opportunities in the Kelowna region
- Understanding of current job search strategies and employment standards
- Career Development Practitioner certification is an asset
