Job Summary
Employment Resource Counselor NCRC for residential offender population. Full-time role responsible for developing employment opportunities and providing ongoing employment counseling. Essential duties include building a bank of employment opportunities, assisting employers with recruiting standards for hard-to-place applicants, helping residents develop job-search, application, and interviewing skills, providing guidance on federal, state, and local employment laws, conducting follow-up counseling to reinforce work ethics, facilitating individual and group personal development sessions, and preparing accurate documentation in line with contract guidelines; requires participation in mandated training and staff development and performing other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in the Social Sciences
- Two years of experience locating jobs for the general public or a specific population
- One year of experience in job search and retention methods
- Knowledge of Federal, State and local employment laws
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing at all levels of the organization and the employment community
