Job Summary
Provide coaching, mentoring, and consultation to individuals with mental illness, substance abuse, and behavioral health challenges to promote recovery, self-advocacy, and self-direction. Deliver manualized interventions such as Wellness Recovery Action Planning, assist beneficiaries in developing psychiatric advance directives, and coordinate employment services. Model recovery values and resilience while supporting the exercise of legal rights within the community. Participate in the Person Centered Planning process, assist team members in understanding recovery, and submit documentation accurately within prescribed timelines. Engage in peer review and ensure services align with the DMH approved IPS training and Fidelity Model. Work primarily in the community across streets, homes, shelters, jails, and hospitals with daily office-based support, requiring travel throughout the assigned territory.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent accredited by the appropriate state department of education
- Must be a NC Certified Peer Support Specialist, or willing to be certified within 6 months of hire
- Must be or have been a recipient of mental health services
- Must have current, unrestricted, state-appropriate driver's license and vehicle insurance
- Must have reliable transportation that will allow movement throughout the program delivery area
- Must be able to travel within assigned territory
