Job Summary
Of Counsel attorney specializing in employment and labor law for the Kansas City office. Responsibilities include defending and litigating employment-related lawsuits and agency charges, advising employers on employment/labor issues, representing employers in court, arbitration, and mediations (including class/collective actions and discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour, contract, employment tort, and non-compete matters). Preference for Class Action experience. Must have JD, 9+ years in employment litigation, KS/MO bar admission, supervisory experience over staff, and strong written/oral communication, detail orientation, multitasking, and project management abilities. A collaborative, professional, and collegial approach is essential, with demonstrated leadership in managing litigation from a first-chair capacity.
Required Qualifications
- JD from accredited law school
- 9+ years of experience in employment litigation
- Current KS and MO Bar admission in good standing
- Supervisory experience over associate and paralegal staff
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to excellence
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
