Job Summary
Conduct legal research and analysis on various employment law issues, preparing and drafting contracts, agreements, pleadings, demand letters, and termination letters. Represent clients in proceedings including mediations, examinations, pre-trial, and trials while reviewing documents for accuracy and compliance. Manage files independently and collaborate with colleagues to develop legal strategies within a full-service firm across Ontario.
Required Qualifications
- minimum of 3 years' experience in non-union employment law
- comprehensive understanding of relevant provincial and federal legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Canada Labour Code, Human Rights Code, and Occupational Health and Safety Act
- proficiency in drafting and reviewing various documents, such as employment agreements, demand letters, and termination letters
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- ability to manage files independently
