Job Summary
As an Employment Counsellor you will provide individual employment counselling and program referrals, assess client needs and develop service plans, interview and assess clients for program suitability, maintain complete client case files, assist clients in securing and maintaining employment, coordinate provision of services with the Job Development team, provide information and referral services, promote Integrated Employment Services, and inform participants about Internet, social media, and other tools for job search success.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Post-Graduate Certificate in Counselling, Social Services, or related field (with placement experience)
- 1–2 years of recent experience providing counselling, employment, or case management services
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sensitivity to diversity, equity, and inclusion with strong interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental health challenges, or complex barriers to employment
- Experience using CAMS, Salesforce, CaseFlo, and FFAI
- Knowledge of local community resources and labor market trends
- Results-driven mindset focused on employment outcomes and service excellence
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn agency systems
- Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check required
