Job Summary
Provide strategic advice to the People team and business stakeholders on U.S. employment issues, including recruiting, performance management, and wage compliance. Oversee internal workplace investigations for harassment, discrimination, and policy violations while investigating claims and demand letters. Draft and negotiate employment documents, update HR guidelines, and support federal contractor compliance obligations. Advise on legal issues arising from AI tools in recruiting and design training for employees and managers. Monitor employment law developments and communicate business implications to leadership.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of relevant employment law experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department
- JD from an accredited institution
- Active and in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, Title VII, and state equivalents
- Experience conducting or managing workplace investigations
- Familiarity with federal contractor compliance obligations, including OFCCP audits, AAP preparation, and VEVRAA and Section 503 requirements
- Must be able to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum of three days per week: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA
