Job Summary
Employment Counsel at Sigma Computing providing legal guidance on all aspects of employment law across the organization. Responsibilities include advising on onboarding, performance management, discipline, terminations, and reductions in force; ensuring compliance with U.S. and international laws; drafting and updating employment agreements, policies, and handbooks; advising on employee relations issues and disputes; managing outside counsel and litigation; conducting workplace investigations; partnering with People Ops and GRC on training and policy implementation; monitoring changes in employment law and recommending updates; and supporting M&A-related employment matters. Requires JD, active U.S. license, 5+ years of employment-law experience, and strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws; experience in HR collaboration and high-growth tech environments preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5+ years of experience practicing employment law (in-house experience at a technology or SaaS company preferred)
- Workplace investigation training and experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, Title VII, wage & hour, classification, etc.)
- Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice
- Experience working closely with HR/People teams and senior leadership
- Excellent communication, judgment, and stakeholder management skills
