Job Summary
Establish and communicate objectives for all program workshops, preparing training systems, course materials, and supplies. Facilitate training using various adult learning methods including life skills and employability skills, while delivering curriculum according to established content and standards. Guide trainees in applying newly acquired skills and maintain case note documentation, workshop attendance, and confidential data. Compile and report evaluation feedback, embodying the four foundational pillars of Motivational Interviewing throughout sessions. Respond to participant resistance with empathy, respect, and a collaborative approach using OARS communication skills. This Full-time position is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Elm location in Sudbury. The role begins August 10, 2026, with a rate of $50,567.78 annually for 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma or University degree in Career Development or related field (Child & Youth Worker, Employment Counselling, Social Work)
- Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working directly with individuals facing multiple barriers to employment
- Minimum of two (2) years facilitating motivational career development workshops
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced computer skills
- Solid knowledge of appropriate health and safety standards and code
- Successful completion of an Educational Evaluation for credentials completed outside of Canada
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of Adult Education Certificate/Training and Development Certificate or in progress
- Knowledge and familiarity with Harm Reduction, Stages of Change and Motivational Interviewing
