Job Summary
Employment Consultant in Roanoke, VA area responsible for providing individualized employment services for persons with disabilities and others with significant employment barriers. Core duties include job development, job placement, training, coaching, delivering career and life skills instruction, facilitating natural support relationships between employers, co-workers, and supported employees, marketing services to referral sources, maintaining referral pipelines, and collaborating with adult service agencies. Maintain consumer status updates and extensive documentation in electronic systems, email, and reports. Role is full-time with a hourly wage of $23.00 plus mileage; on-site in Roanoke, VA with flexible hours. Requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, proficiency in Word and Excel, ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, maintain confidentiality, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Preferred experience in behavioral change procedures, vocational rehabilitation or human services, and bilingual skills.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to sit up to four (4) hours at a time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience with behavior change procedures or intervention programs.
- Experience in vocational rehabilitation, supported employment, or human services.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
- EDUCATION: High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- EXPERIENCE: Minimum two (2) years of employment services, case management, coaching, or related experience preferred.
