Job Summary
Lead service coordination, job development, and on-the-job coaching for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness. Conduct direct support and mentoring for Job Coaches and Contract Site personnel while ensuring compliance with quality standards and budgets. Facilitate treatment team meetings, evaluate plan effectiveness, and advocate for served individuals by building relationships with community businesses and families. De-escalate aggressive behaviors per protocol and complete required documentation including treatment plans, incident reports, and DVRs. Requires a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate degree (A.A.) or 2 years college course work in human services or related field
- Two (2) years experience providing direct services and case management to people with developmental disabilities and/or mental illnesses
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Insured vehicle
- Current Alaska driver's license (with no or low points)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check under state regulations
- National Certificate in Employment Services or obtain one within 6 months of employment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write professional documents and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with groups, customers and business peers
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar and pie graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must be willing to work a flexible shift to include weekends and evenings
Desired Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience and/or training
- Competent use of e-mail, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and e-file management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience providing direct care and/or case management in an employment setting
- Able to effectively teach/train and mentor others
- Able to give clear directions and guidelines to team members
- Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with a team to provide quality service to individuals experiencing developmental or mental illnesses
- Must demonstrate an understanding of boundaries and is able to establish and maintain therapeutic relationship boundaries with the served individual
- General knowledge of mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities
- Ability to effectively advocate for individuals served by Assets
- Ability to resolve conflicts and be open to supervision and feedback from others with resultant behavioral changes
