Job Summary

Employee Relations Specialist needed onsite in Denver, CO to provide expert consultation and technical guidance to federal supervisors and managers on disciplinary/adverse actions, performance management, grievance administration, leave/attendance issues, and reasonable accommodation. The role emphasizes ensuring procedural compliance with OPM regulations (5 CFR 752, 5 CFR 432), coordinating with Legal, Labor Relations, and EEO stakeholders, managing ER cases from intake through resolution, drafting and reviewing disciplinary letters and documentation, and guiding management through hearings, investigations, and responses. Responsibilities include conducting consultations to define issues, advising on action paths (counseling, reprimand, suspension, removal, performance improvement processes, ADR), tracking timelines and due process, managing adverse actions (suspension >14 days, demotion, removal), handling negotiated grievances and non-bargaining employee grievances, supporting performance plan development and PIPs, coordinating with benefits/leave programs, and ensuring confidentiality and proper records handling. Requirement highlights include 3-5 years of Federal civilian employee relations experience, interpretation/application of 5 CFR 752 and 5 CFR 432, and preparation of correspondence for legal review. Required Qualifications

  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience developing recommendations and providing consultation services on sensitive Federal civilian employee relations matters
  • technical advice and guidance to supervisors and managers on complex Federal employee relations matters such as disciplinary actions including suspensions and reprimands, administrative investigations and performance issues
  • experience interpreting and applying 5 CFR 752 and 5 CFR 432
  • development of Federal employee relations related correspondence, communications, and memorandums for legal review/concurrence
