Job Summary
Serve as a subject matter expert on employee relations matters, resolving problems, addressing complaints, and assisting in investigations of employee and regulatory issues. Identify and analyze ER matters to recommend appropriate employment actions, administer the Performance Expectations and Corrective Action Policy, and oversee termination processes in accordance with Bank practices. Conduct investigations, counsel managers and employees on conduct disputes, and facilitate dispute resolutions. Prepare documentation, represent the Bank at investigative conferences and hearings, and deliver training on policy, harassment, and legal issues. Mentor specialists, generate reporting on ER interventions, and identify risk-related issues requiring escalation to management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field (Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications)
- 5 or more years relevant work experience
- OR in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 9 years higher education and work experience
- Experience consulting on ER issues
- Experience conducting and leading investigations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel, including overnight travel, as needed
- Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, influencing, writing, and mediation skills
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and work with agility in a dynamic, changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
- Proven ability to be self-motivated, well organized, and constantly learning
Desired Qualifications
- HR generalist, employee relations, or internal business line manager with significant people management experience
- Understanding of employment law, including general interpretation and application
- SHRM CP or PHR
