Job Summary
General Employee Relations Coordinator at Halifax-based YHZ combines on-site airport duties with work-from-home; responsibilities include managing HR administrative processes (employment terminations, new hires, inter-airport transfers, HR data, etc.), assisting employees with HR inquiries, supporting leave of absence and work accommodations with other coordinators, and developing/administering a customer service structure for unionized and non-unionized employees. The role favors candidates with 1–3 years of HR experience in a unionized environment, post-secondary education in HR or labour relations (or equivalent), familiarity with federally regulated/unionized contexts, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and collective agreement management; temporary 12-month term based at Halifax Airport (YHZ).
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years experience in human resources, preferably in a unionized environment
- Post-secondary education in human resources or labour relations, or equivalent work experience
- Experience working in a federally regulated, unionized sector is ideal
- Good level of competence with Microsoft Office and other office applications
- Work experience and/or basic knowledge of collective agreement management
