Job Summary
Employee Meal Chef responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals for club employees while upholding food quality, sanitation, safety, and professionalism. Responsibilities include developing varied menus to accommodate diverse tastes and dietary needs, following all recipes and food-safety procedures, maintaining sanitation, practicing proper food handling and temperature control, demonstrating knife skills, executing cooking techniques (roasting, braising, grilling, sautéing, frying, steaming, baking, stock/sauce preparation), monitoring quality and consistency, assisting with receiving and storing food, minimizing waste, keeping workstations organized, communicating effectively with the culinary team, and supporting other kitchen stations during busy periods or events.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Culinary degree, certificate, or formal culinary training preferred
- SERV Safe Food Handler or Food Protection Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of professional cooking experience
- Experience preparing meals for large groups
- Experience with menu planning and food cost awareness
- Strong knife skills and proper knife maintenance
- Ability to multitask and prioritize production schedules
- Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
Desired Qualifications
- CULINARY degree or formal culinary training
- SERV Safe or Food Protection Certification
